Festo was born in the highlands of northern
Tanzania and
developed early-on a
great interest in
wildlife. After
completing his
education he was
fortunate to be
selected as a game
scout for a major
safari operator in
the
Selous Nature
Reserve. He worked
in that capacity for
seven years and
became an expert in
bush camp operations
and guiding. With
that experience, he
went on to work with
one of the most
noted
safari guides
in East Africa. He
was in the Selous
Reserve for eleven
years –
guiding
walking safaris and
establishing fly
camps.
