16 Day Kilimanjaro & Tanzania Safari

Trip Description

Arrival and pick up by Ecological Wilderness Adventure representatives from the airport and transferred to Arusha O/N African Tulip

Transfer from the hotel to Machame gate, after a formal registration then start to climb through the ever changing rainforest alive with birdsong. The path turns to narrow following a rocky ridge to a thicker vegetation (giant heather and spanish moses) to alpine moorland O/N Machame Camp (3000M) (B,L,D)

The climb continues to Shira walking along the rocky ridge scatted with giant heather and passing several clearings with great views of Mt. Meru and Longido in the western corridor... Ascending to across several ravines through land studded with giant lobelia and giant groundsels to Shira cave before reaching the last point of the day O/N Shira Camp (B,L,D)

Ascending further to Lava Tower for acclimatization along the trails, walking gentle where the vegetation is limited to lichens and moses then the trails take the series of shallow up and down valley in the base of the western breach and then branch off to Baranco O/N Baranco Camp (B,L,D)

The climb continue in a steep and stretches of Baranco Wall the zigzagging path and a narrow path to follow a spectacular traverse east along the base of Kibo, walking further to Karanga Valley then the track continue to barafu O/N Barafu Camp (B,L,D)

Summit day is the most exhausting and involves at least Seventeen hours from Barafu to Uhuru peak then down to Mweka Camp. This day normally starts after midnight, take the trails following an increasing steep valley on the edge of Scree fields, passing between Rebmann and Ratzel glaciers to emerge at Stella point(5681m) on the southern rim of Kibo then ascending further to Uhuru peak(5895m) after spending some few minutes at the top roof of Africa then  descending to Barafu after a short rest then descending to Mweka camp (B,L,D)

After breakfast then descend further down to Mweka gate. The final day should be bliss but please take it easy as the knees might be deadly tired and inching after an official signing off at Mweka gate and awarded certificate being given then transfer to  to the hotel O/N  African Tulip (B,L,D)

Breakfast then drive to Lake Manyara National park at the foot of the Great  Rift Valley's western escapement, enjoying the game view in the park which  attracts a wide variety of habitats and disproportionate dense of wildlife  population. The lake itself is a popular feeding ground for large flocks of flamingo

Overnight Bouganvillea Lodge

After breakfast, depart from Lake Manyara to Serengeti National park, the game will be taken to the most famous destination in the world (Endless plains) known for its countless wildlife documentaries

Overnight Serengeti Savannah

More game drives in Serengeti and when the time is right this is the park to experience the most spectacular wildlife on Earth (Massive) annual migration of over 2.5 million Wildebeest, Zebra and many other animals Overnight Serengeti Savannah

Another game drives in Serengeti National park, the gifted park in which even when the migration is not coincided, there’s abundant wildlife and plains are as good a place as any for seeing predators

Morning game drive in Serengeti before driving to Ngorongoro with an optional visit of Olduvai Gorge and optional visit of Maasai Village

Overnight Ngorongoro Sopa 

Descend into the undeniable jewel and the centerpiece of the enormous volcanic caldera in the world. The game drive will take place from comprising grassland to the swamp forest and around a shallow lake with a picnic lunch boxes. Spend almost the whole day into the base of the crater which it looks like a zoo with a virtually guaranteed sight of Lion, Buffalo, Leopard and highly endangered Rhino. Ascending and drive to Karatu

Overnight Farm House

Drive to Tarangire National Park for a game drives in a likeable scruffy place where the millenarian Baobao trees dwarf even the park substantial elephant population

Overnight Maromboi Tented lodge

More game drive in Tarangire National Park, the park which is probably the best ever place in all Africa to see patchy dermis. The game will be taken till afternoon then drive to Arusha

Overnight African Tulip

Leisure day and probably the best day to do some shopping before driving to the airport for the returning
