The 5-Day Tanzania Serena Lodge Safari includes a direct drive to the Manyara National Park, a picnic lunch, and game drives through the park’s interior where you may observe sizable herds of elephants. This safari is only available to guests staying at Serena Lodge hotels. It will take you to the center of the famed Ngorongoro Crater and the Lake Manyara National Park, where you may witness animals in addition to the breathtaking dawn.
In one of Tanzania’s most breathtaking locations, the Serena brand of hotels and lodges has created award-winning jewels of a hotel. The lodges have infinity pools that provide panoramic views across the Serengeti’s vast, endless grasslands, where lions and cheetahs stalk their prey and massive migrating wildebeest herds darken the landscape in a relentless search for new grazing grounds. The lodges are seamlessly incorporated high into the acacia-dotted savannah of the African wilderness.
On this morning day we will start by driving from Arusha towards Makuyuni and on to Mto Wa Mbu. Stop at Mto wa Mbu we take part in a village tour to learn a little about what a typical village in the area is like This two hour tour will take you from the village's local market through several different farms, local huts, and artisan shops, and back to the market, giving you the opportunity to get a true glimpse of northern Tanzanian culture!! After our walk we have a local traditional Lunch before continuing on to the Lodge
Overnight at Lake Manyara Serena Lodge
After breakfast, we will drive to Lake Manyara National Park for a full day game drive and have a picnic lunch. While Manyara is one of the smallest parks, it is one of the most interesting. Much of the northern part of the park is fed by underground water from the Ngorongoro Highlands and as a result is covered in dense forest vegetation, giving the appearance of a tropical jungle. This forest is ideal habitat for elephant, bushbuck, blue monkey, and huge troops of olive baboon. Some parts are dry bush land attracting zebra, impala and giraffe, while the lakeshore provides another habitat, perfect for flamingos and other shore birds. Our game drive will take us slowly south through the park and later in the afternoon proceed to the Lodge. We will have dinner and stay the night at the lodge.
Overnight at Lake Manyara Serena Lodge
We will leave this morning on our way to Ngorongoro Crater for full day game drive (1½ hrs drive from the Tloma Lodge). Our drive takes us up to the rim of the Crater; we will descend more than 2,000 feet on steep tracks cut into the crater wall to reach the open plains of the Crater floor. The Ngorongoro Crater is undoubtedly the best place in Tanzania to view black rhino as well as large prides of lion that include magnificent black-manned males. It is also home to huge herds of wildebeest and zebra and many other plains game, such as Thomson's gazelle. An alkaline lake in the floor of the Crater provides a habitat for colorful flamingo and a variety of other water birds. Massive bull elephants feed in the swamps, some adorned with enormous tusks. Later in the afternoon proceed to the Lodge for Dinner and overnight.

After breakfast we drive back to Arusha arrive in time for for lunch at the African Tulip and day use room before transferred to Kilimanjaro to board your flight back home
