Common questions about booking Tanzania safari tours
Tanzania safari costs range from $250–400 per person per day for budget camping safaris, $450–800/day for mid-range lodge safaris, and $850–1,500+/day for luxury fly-in experiences. A typical 7-day mid-range safari costs $3,150–5,600 per person, excluding international flights. Park entry fees for Serengeti and Ngorongoro are $70–83 per adult per 24 hours, usually included in tour packages.
The best time for Tanzania safaris is the dry season from June to October, when wildlife concentrates around water sources and vegetation is thinner for easier game viewing. For the Great Migration river crossings, visit July–September in the northern Serengeti. The calving season (January–March) in the southern Serengeti offers dramatic predator-prey encounters with fewer crowds and lower prices.
We recommend 5–7 days minimum for a comprehensive Tanzania safari. A 5-day safari covers the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. 7 days adds Tarangire or Lake Manyara. For the full Northern Circuit plus Kilimanjaro or Zanzibar extension, plan 10–14 days. Short 3-day safaris are possible but limit you to 1–2 parks.
Tanzania is one of the safest countries in East Africa for tourists. The safari circuit — Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire, and Lake Manyara — has an excellent safety record. As a TATO-licensed operator, we meet all national safety and vehicle standards. Our professional guides carry first-aid equipment and maintain radio contact with park authorities throughout every safari.
