Itinerary
Day by day
Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you’ll be greeted by your safari guide and transferred to your hotel in Arusha for a relaxing evening to prepare for the 10-Day Tanzania Highlights Safari adventure ahead.
Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National Park, known for its dense forest and tree-climbing lions. Enjoy a picnic lunch during your game drive, where you may see elephants, baboons, zebras, and giraffes. In the evening, head to your lodge in Karatu for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Lake Eyasi
Travel to Lake Eyasi, home to the Datoga and Hadzabe Bushmen tribes. Visit the blacksmiths and spend time learning about their culture. The next morning, join the Hadzabe for a hunting excursion, where you’ll witness their incredible survival skills. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon by the lake, exploring local farms and fishing activities.
Days 4-5: Ngorongoro Crater
Depart for Ngorongoro Highlands, where you’ll stay at a lodge overlooking the famous Ngorongoro Crater. Spend two days exploring the crater, which is home to a rich diversity of wildlife, including the Big Five. You can opt for a full-day game drive or return to the lodge for a late lunch and relaxation.
Day 6: Central Serengeti
After breakfast, travel to the Serengeti, with an optional stop at the historic Olduvai Gorge. Upon arrival, enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Seronera region, where you’ll encounter lions, cheetahs, and elephants. Return to your camp for dinner and overnight.
Days 7-9: Northern Serengeti
Continue your journey to the Northern Serengeti, a prime location for witnessing the Great Migration. Spend three full days tracking the movement of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles as they cross the Mara River. This region is also home to resident wildlife, including hippos, crocodiles, and large predators like lions and leopards.
Day 10: Departure from Arusha
After breakfast, transfer to Kogatende Airstrip for your flight back to Arusha. You’ll be picked up at the airport and driven to a local restaurant for lunch, followed by some relaxation or shopping before your transfer to the international airport for your flight home.
