Itinerary

Day by day

Day 1: Fly from Arusha to Northern Serengeti

Accommodation: Serengeti Savannah Mara River Camp

Start your adventure with a flight from Arusha to the Northern Serengeti (Kogatende Airstrip). Upon arrival, meet your guide for a game drive en route to your camp. After lunch, enjoy an afternoon of game drives, exploring the wildlife-rich Mara River area, a prime location for witnessing the Great Migration.

Days 2 & 3: Game Drives in Northern Serengeti

Accommodation: Serengeti Savannah Mara River Camp

Spend two full days exploring the northern Serengeti, known for its dramatic Mara River crossings during the migration season. Huge herds of wildebeest and zebras make this treacherous journey while predators, including crocodiles and lions, lurk nearby. The Mara River area also boasts year-round resident wildlife, including large prides of lions, elephants, and buffaloes.

Day 4: Northern Serengeti to Central Serengeti

Accommodation: Serengeti Kati Kati Camp or similar

After a leisurely breakfast, drive south to the Central Serengeti, known as the Seronera area. This region is one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, thanks to the permanent Seronera River, which attracts a variety of animals year-round. Enjoy a game drive en route to camp, with opportunities to spot lions, leopards, and cheetahs.

Day 5: Full Day in Central Serengeti

Accommodation: Serengeti Kati Kati Camp or similar

Spend the entire day in the Serengeti, home to the highest concentration of large mammals on Earth. Explore the open plains and unique rock formations known as kopjes, where lions and other predators often rest. The area is also home to non-migratory species like giraffes, zebras, and hyenas. After a day of exploration, return to camp for a relaxing evening by the campfire.

Day 6: Central Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

Accommodation: Bougainvillea Lodge

After breakfast, depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, often referred to as a natural "Garden of Eden" due to its high density of wildlife. Look out for herds of zebras, wildebeests, and buffaloes, as well as predators like lions, hyenas, and leopards. You may also spot the rare black rhino grazing in the open plains. Ascend the crater and transfer to your lodge for the night.

Day 7: Return to Arusha and Departure

After breakfast, drive back to Arusha with a stop for lunch at a local restaurant. You will then be transferred to the airport for your return flight, concluding your unforgettable Tanzanian safari.
