Gibb's Farm is a working coffee farm in the forested highlands above Karatu, on the way to the Ngorongoro Crater. James Gibb bought the land in 1948 and the first guest cottages opened in 1972. Coffee, vegetables and flowers are grown organically on the farm and go straight to the kitchen. Cottages sit in the gardens, forest walks lead up towards the crater rim, and the crater gate is about 30 minutes' drive away.
