Day 1:

Begin your Rongai Route adventure by driving to the starting point at Nale Moru village. Trek through dense forests and reach the first camp at Simba Camp, situated at an elevation of approximately 2,600 meters.

Day 2:

Continue your ascent, passing through moorland and enjoying panoramic views of the Kenyan plains. Reach Second Cave Camp, located at an elevation of around 3,450 meters.

Day 3:

Trek through the stunning landscapes of the heather zone, crossing Third Cave along the way. Reach Kikelewa Camp, situated at an elevation of approximately 3,600 meters.

Day 4:

Ascend further and traverse through the alpine desert terrain. Pass Mawenzi Tarn and arrive at Mawenzi Camp, located at an elevation of around 4,330 meters.

Day 5:

Take a day to acclimatize and rest at Mawenzi Camp. You can explore the surroundings or embark on a short hike to aid in acclimatization.

Day 6:

Resume your trek, ascending to Kibo Hut, situated at an elevation of approximately 4,700 meters. This camp serves as the basecamp for your final push to the summit.

Day 7:

Begin your summit attempt in the early hours of the morning, making your way up to Gilman's Point and then Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. Descend back to Kibo Hut, and further down to Horombo Hut, where you will spend the night.
